The MacDowell Music Club offers two kinds of music scholarships: Continuing Education Scholarships, which are non-auditioned scholarships awarded in the fall, and Achievement Scholarships, which are auditioned for and awarded in the spring. The scholarships are for students up through 12th grade, depending on the particular scholarship.
These music scholarships are audition-based. Students or teachers may fill out this application. The purpose of these scholarships is to support and inspire students towards musical excellence.
Scholarship monies are awarded to the students in February, as checks made out to the teacher, and are $300 per scholarship. Applications in this category are entered into a scholarship pool from donors.
Applications must be submitted by January 15, 2018. Auditions will be held Sunday, February 4th, beginning a 1:00 P.M. at The Wisconsin Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 1700 W. State Street, Janesville. Scholarships winners are REQUIRED to perform their auditions piece on Sunday, February 25,2018, at the Janesville Woman's Club, 108 South Jackson Street, Janesville at 2:00 P.M.
To raise money for local scholarships, the MacDowell Music Club holds a variety of fund raisers. The club raises money through the sale of pecans and a non-event fundraiser mailing.
